re-watching this anime after over a year and, tbh, I see why this shit got me hooked on anime. It's not great, but it's not TERRIBLE either

The manga can be considered a masterpiece, and I don't take the word masterpiece lightly. And honestly the first season's adaptation is pretty good, if they just kept the same quality with the other seasons. This situation is just like tpn, first season was a banger but the studio decided to rush the manga in the second one and completely erase one of the most fan anticipated arcs. Honestly it's really depressing seeing great mangas/light novels get bad adaptations, and it's **that** sad for the consumers I can't imagine how disappointing it would be for the authors.

Hide's the type of best friend to die for. People like him are super rare and everyone needs a friend like him in their lives. He's a true bro who never abandoned Kaneki even though he kept ignoring his attempts to reach him via calls or texts. He really cares. It was so adorable and heartwarming when he met him finally after so many days of no contact.
Also, it was very sweet of Yoshimura-san to give Kaneki a place like Anteiku to feel grounded and work at.

There's a lot of love for the opening (and I love it as well), but none for the ending song, Seijatachi (Saints). Imho, it's actually more atmospheric and reminiscent of Tokyo Ghoul for me. I actually like it more because it's more nostalgic for me.
